Serial inaction and broken promises.
I bought and paid for plates from Click4Reg.
Sadly the purchase was not actionned although money was taken. I was told paperwork and subsequently physical plates would be sent. Sadly neither arrived. The plates remained on sale. I was dismayed to find some extremely poor online reviews. Dakota agreed to a refund which also failed to arrive. I got my money back when I involved trading standards, obtained legal advice and planned legal action. Avoid

I sold a personalised plate through Click4Reg in September 2022, but did not receive payment until 31st March 2023. There were some processing delays at the start but I was told once all documents had been received payment would take 10 weeks.
I was then told there were delays at the DVLA which I accepted. In January received an offer through another website that I had forgotten to remove the plate from, I told them the situation and they told me to contact the DVLA, so I did.
The DVLA told me on the 23rd February that the plate was actually registered to another car already.
I immediately passed this information to Click4Reg who told me it would take 72 hours to get details on this. I chased this again after over a week without response but yet again they blamed the DVLA.
Eventually after chasing further I was told my payment would be processed at the end of March.
The whole process took way too long and I struggle to believe the DVLA were at fault. I tried to stay relaxed throughout the process but nothing really happened until I chased it myself. If you use Click4Reg I'd recommend you stay on top of the process to ensure you get your payment as early as possible.

Sadly I have to click 1 star to be able to leave a review which I wouldn’t give! They ‘sold’ my number plate at the end of October and as of writing today (15th March) I am still waiting for my money! They were very attentive at the beginning saying 10 weeks until receive etc then they went quiet and I have chased multiple times to be fobbed off. I am in need of this money that is rightfully mine and am disgusted in the poor service and response time. I did give them warning that I would review in hope that would speed them up but sadly hasn’t so I’m here to warn others. UPDATE: I received my money 31.03.23.

Very anxious wait for payment.
We were contacted latter part of November 22 with an offer for our plate. The retention certificate was posted early December with one day guaranteed post unfortunately it didn't arrive for a couple of days because of postal strikes. 25th January we see from the DVLA site that the registration has been assigned to the buyers car which wasn't confirmed by Click4reg until mid to late February. One of the people I spoke to said when the transfer went through, the money would be released. At this time we took legal advice and were advised to consider taking out a CCJ and to find details of who dealt with their legal issues. According to Vanessa they only do payments every 2 weeks and she wouldn't be moved on this as we felt that they had the buyers payment since the end of November and the transfer going through late January, we were due the money. We've finally received payment today. So judge for yourselves if you want to use this company. I know that if and when we come to selling another number plate, we'll be looking for a different company.
So in answer to you Vanessa. The DVLA confirmed the transfer went through on 25th January, you did not confirm the transfer until mid February. You may well have systems in place but I was told over the phone that as soon as the transfer went through, the money owing would be released to me. I didn't say I issued court papers to you, I said I took legal advice as you are well aware, due to the conversation we had regarding who dealt with legal matters at your company. You also said I would get the payment on 6th March but actually it was 7th March, only one day granted but I do like to get things clarified. I have to say that reading other reviews from sellers, this doesn't appear to be an isolated incident. You say you tried to be helpful, well I have to say that's a matter of opinion, however, I am glad that my dealings with you are now at an end and rest assured that I won't be using Click4reg again so that can leave us both relieved.

I am disappointed to read your review and that you are not happy with our service, we work really hard to make sure our customers are happy.
As I have explained in the email responses there are processes we have to follow to protect not just the seller of a registration but also the buyer.
We cannot release payments to sellers without this being confirmed on our systems otherwise you would have the buyers payment and they could potentially loose the registration and their payment. Once the transfer is confirmed our systems would then release a payment date. Our payments are then done in payment runs, which is the same with most corporate companies.
I appreciate you were concerned due to the delay and I had tired to reassure you that you would receive your payment on the payment date provided to which I can confirm that this payment was made on time. No CCJ was needed and neither were court papers issued to ourselves.
I am pleased that you had confirmed in your review that you have already received your payment. Thank you!

Don’t sell your plate through them
I was contacted in September about a plate for sale. I accepted the offer and got the forms sent off right away. I am yet to receive the payment. They advised me it could take up to 10 weeks. It’s been over 22 weeks now. Every time I chase I’m told they are now receiving transfers back from just before they did mine and it will be soon. Looking up the plate online it’s been registered to the new vehicle since November! I’ve been waiting 4 days for a response now. Absolutely shocking withholding payment.
Since writing this review, I was contacted to advise it is now complete and I should receive payment by 13.03 6PM. This has still not happened and I’ve had no response to emails it’s now 25 weeks since the transfer was put through. Their T&C’s specifically state “ Once a new V5 bearing the new registration number is received by the Buyer this shall be conclusive proof that a successful transfer has taken place for both Buyer and Seller”. Yet, this was registered 10th November and I am still without payment. DO NOT SELL VIA CLICK4REG.

Having looked in to this further I can see that there was an error and our admin system was showing that the transfer was registered with the Dvla and was being processed by the Dvla. At which point we should have been awaiting documents from the Dvla for the private number plate. I can see however, this was an error and the transfer didn't go through correctly with the Dvla.
