Another customer dealing with bad customer service

I bought a pair of Bell Helmets for the wife and I.
We do touring on our BMW R1200RS.
I bought the helmets at Dennis Kirk. I have been a loyal customer for 20 years.
I no longer will do business with Dennis Kirk due to the handling of a warranty issue.
The helmet has a flip down visor. The handle on the visor broke within 2 weeks. I sent it in for repair. When I got the helmet back I tried it on and the cheek pads moved on me. After further inspection I noticed the cheek pads which are glued in from the factory had been pulled out of the helmet during the repair process.
I called and customer service denied any responsibility.
I was incredulous. The helmet had only been worn maybe 10 times and was in perfect condition when I sent it to them, other than the broken visor.
I have now been fighting with Dennis Kirk customer service for 5 months over this. Its like they make it a personal vendetta to deny claims. Worst customer service I have ever dealt with. I have had to stop payment on my American Express, and I am having to rely on Amx to remedy the situation. Dennis Kirk has decent prices but they don't back up their products. I don't believe the owners condone the way customer service handles their business. I think Dennis Kirk customer service needs to revamp how customers are handled.

disappionted

Keep it simple, brought a gas tank, tried to install, tank bracket welded wrong, they were nice to let me know they had 6 others, after they inspected the same products, they were all defected from the manufacture, at that point they were o well. So thank God I manage a Auto Body shop and have the equipment to re-fix a crap product after waiting two day for them to get back to you, nothing like not riding during nice weather.

The WORST.......

This company should be out of business. Poor sales and customer service. So I ordered a part the part arrived I then proceeded to install part and very quickly realized that it would not fit. So I followed return procedures and they received return. So then they deduct 17.99 from my refund. Which I have not received yet. Save your self the headache and order from someone else.

I would pay twice as much to a more deserving company. TERRIBLE BUSINESS

BE WARNED. Ive bought many small items from this company which is normally okay. however I needed a tuner for my ECM this time around. The first arrived broken and the replacement screwed up my bike. When I sent it off to return I was then hassled by having to contact the manufacturer of the product for a Return authorization number that was then sent off to DennisKirk (Im soo happy i could do their job for them). It has been 7 weeks since I returned the item and still have not received a refund. Ive dealt with their slow and incredibly rude customer service for weeks now with the same answer "we have to wait for the manufacturer".

The no hassle return policy is BS when it comes to electronics. They have essentially stolen my money and not even returned the defective piece of junk they sold me. Ive had to buy another item from a different company to get my bike up and running since this has taken so long. I will never do business with DennisKirk.com again.

Sent the wrong item and made me pay shipping

This company stinks, do not buy from them. I researched a specific ATV mirror online for the lowest price I could find. I found it on Dennis Kirk (or so I thought) for around $20 and ordered it, paying $8 to ship. When I received it, it was not the mirror pictured on the website. I sent it back, and they sent me the right one. Then I noticed a $4 charge on my credit card. When I called, they said the price of the mirror I wanted and thought I had ordered was $4 more. What? Apparently it is a bait and switch tactic. A very popular style, hard to find mirror, and you think you have found it for a good price. Most people probably just pay the extra $4 but I was P.O.ed. You would think they would have to honor the price online for the mirror pictured. I sent it back and emailed them, emphasizing that I expected my refund to include shipping as it was their mistake. (The wrong mirror pictured.) They did not disagree, but then did not refund the shipping, saying it was not their error so I can't get the shipping back. What? Not their error? Of course it was, the wrong picture was on their site. Their CS fought me over $4, and I even did a charge back which they fought and I am still out the shipping. I am too tired to continue this over $4. Beware of misleading and bait and switch tactics. Dennis Kirk stinks.

Changed item fitment scale after item was purchased.

I bought two red tail light lenses. When I bought them the color was yellow which means they would possibly fit. When I received them they did not fit. I am fine with this as I knew that was a possibility. What I am not fine with is that suddenly the fitment scale color was red - which means it is definitely not going to fit. I returned the item and did receive my purchase price. I am out $8 for shipping and "handling" plus the $3 to ship the item. I should have kept it as a reminder of shady business practices. I put two stars as the were in good shape but they are a very deceptive company to change a description like that. Would not recommend, will tell my friends on motorcycle boards to BEWARE.

Been shopping through them for 33 years!

That's right, 33 years. Started using then when I was a teenager and built up a garage service biz for my self fixing friends bikes and then others bikes as word spread, Got a lot of replacement and customizing parts through them, always had lightning fast service, good customer service, excellent catalogs and good prices. Never a problem with a product and when I made a mistake on an item, they recieved it back and sent a corrected selection without a hassle. Thing about ANY mail order purchase is this: KNOW what you're ordering, and BE PATIENT in dealing with a company. You're not the ONLY person they have to tend to. If you don't know what you're buying, it's not their fault, just be man enough to admit you'd made a mistake. Now my son buys thrugh them and he's been satisfied with them as well. Thanks DK for being there when I needed you. T. Scheuer/ Custom Sports Cycles, Pt Jefferson N.Y. (1979-1984) till present, D. Scheuer, Middletown N.Y.

DO NOT USE....

International customer here, based in the UK. I recieved a confirmation letter telling me my order would be with me by the 5th of December... I telephoned them at close of business (UK time) asking where my order was, only to be told that it hadn't even been shipped out yet..despite my paying over $100 for express shipping...!!
My order was placed 3 days ago, yet they boast on their website that ''we ship the same day'' and my order was for a stock item!? When I telephoned them from the UK, their customer service was less than helpful with attitude...! Pathetic service which I would never recommend to anyone.!!!

Received: Wrong size, defective item & bad cust. service

Purchased a mesh jacket, received the wrong size. They charged my card, without my consent, to exchange for correct size. Received the jacket, unopened, with black sharpie writing all over the trim. Um, let me repeat, I received a "new" jacket, still wrapped in plastic, that had graffiti on it. I called the company and spoke to a very unpleasant woman who informed me it was my problem because I ordered the wrong size. "So" was her favorite response. She told me I'd have to "eat" the restocking fee and shipping fees, as this whole fiasco was, yet again, my problem.
