The manager at the gym in Barnstaple who told me what to do - he was great (Phil). The online experience with Pure Help was brilliant, got my Parkinsons membership up and running in no time at all. Outstanding. Chapeau to Pure Gym for their Parkinsons support.

The manager was great when we turned up unannounced for a tour. Very helpful and informative. Left us feeling motivated to sign up, which we did later the same day.
The online sign up process was very clear and easy to follow and the app is pretty impressive.

Update based on Puregym's response below.
Thanks for coming back to me but this is not a material response in anyway ... more akin to PR spin or obfuscation.
There is no requirement for a trade off between weights and cardio - there is ample space for another set of 1-10kg weights. There was certainly money available to add dumbbells between 40kg and 50K. Are customers such as me worthy of a reasonable supply of lighter weights or literally to be without certain weights for more than 50 minutes at a time. I would appreciate a straight answer.
(Original from here) This refers to Puregym Barnstaple although other Puregyms may be the same.
The gym is well set up for those that like medium-to-heavy weights and who enjoy classes but customers who prefer light weights are very much second-class members.
Downstairs - with benches - hosts one set of dumbbells from 2kg to 8kg (even numbers only) and two sets of each available weight between around 10kg and 30 or 40 kg. Additional dumbbells go up to 50kg. Away from mirrors there's a couple of random sets of lighter weights but the 'bulk' of the pitiful supply of light weights are upstairs on a matted area. That comprises one set of 1kg to 10kg dumbbells and that's it. Obviously that's a problem given that someone intending to use 3kg probably does not want 4kg or 2kg.
The situation is made a great deal worse by customers in classes taking these weights away for anything to to an hour at at time. Yesterday for 50 minutes - all weights between 2kg and 5kg were gone. Options were 1kg or 6kg and above. This is neither helpful in terms of trying to train or avoid injury.
I have contacted the company multiple times about this and have been told it's being looked into but no action has been taken. In fact in this period a rack of very heavy dumbbells appeared.
I should stress this review is not a complaint about the staff and that should not be inferred. They are friendly and helpful and positive to the environment.
I'm led to believe that those in classes should not remove kit from outside of the area the classes are held in. But I can't see how any member of staff can be expected to tell three or four people in a class that they can't use the kit in the gym they pay for. Indeed there's frequently a race to remove dumbbells from the upstairs up to 20 or 30 mins before a class begins.
Just one year's subscription from myself and my girlfriend would go a long way to covering the cost of as second set of lighter weights. There's plenty of space next to the existing rack so that's not the issue.
But apparently, we - and those like us - are not worth that cost. If there's a business decision to focus on heavier weights and classes that's fine. I would just like to be told that straight so I can decide if I want to take my money elsewhere.

Everything was great! Wish there were more and better water stations… the one they had was downstairs and was trickling. I wish you had another upstairs with a bottle filler. Other than that, the gym is awesome.

I was very apprehensive, Nervous and self conscious about using a gym.
I went later in the evening, hoping it would be much quieter. I had a very positive 1st experience. I was a a guest on my friends membership.
I really enjoyed my session. And feel proud to have taken a step towards regaining control over my fitness.
The gym is an amazing space, every machine or equipment you could possibly need. All very clean.
Most importantly it felt safe. Being female and in the building beyond midnight that was an important factor for me.
Looking forward to PureGym Bideford....
I'm thinking about joining myself.

The website made all the joining options clear and it was easy to run through all the steps.
The details and pictures of the facilities allowed me to see if the kind of equipment I am used to was available.

The set out of the gym was thought through with the dead weights on the ground floor, equipment was in good condition but did notice a few weeks of dust beside the running machines which should be kept under control, l never found the staff friendly on entering and exiting the gym, but overall it’s an OK gym.

The gym itself is fine...does what it says on the tin. Enough facilities/equipment etc. The only thing for me would be better changing facilities. It said on the website that there are separate-sex communal changing rooms however that's not the case as this particular location... I think because it's a "local" branch which apparently is different.
There are instead 2 changing cubicles, both of which are not fully enclosed (open space at the top and bottom) which are in the main changing area that everyone has access to (male and female). There are individual showers however again these are in the main changing area that everyone has access to so it's not like you could have a shower and then go to a changing cubicle... Well you could but you'd be giving everyone in the gym an eyeful! Haha
You can get changed in the shower however it's also a toilet and there's not really space to put your stuff. There is a hanging hook on the door and a hanging hook for your towel so your option really is to put your stuff on the floor which I didn't really want to do in what is essentially a public toilet. It would be good if there was a bench you could put your stuff on instead... The shower area could definitely fit a small bench which would just make the experience a little easier and a little nicer for everyone.
I think the changing area bits are the only thing letting it down. Would definitely feel more comfortable changing in a women's only area, rather than being given a cubicle that anyone could look over or under, or having to change in a toilet and put my stuff on a floor however, just adding little touches to the toilet/shower area would make it a bit nicer :)
Great to do a new class (mashup) class was challenging but thoroughly enjoyable
Be great to have this class as a regular class
