Although I understand this is a budget…
Although I understand this is a budget commercial gym I feel they could do a lot better. The space could be utilised more by swapping out doubles of some equipment to bring in some new machines for variety. For some reason the weight racks have been removed entirely so there isn't a designated space to stack plates other than on machines themselves or leaning up against walls on the floor creating mess and hazards. "New" equipment that has been introduced is clearly pre loved from other gyms. Basic equipment such as resistants bands and pads are not readily available. Seems to be oversubscribed for the floor space and for the amount of members service is poor and there also seems to be a high turnover of PTs/Fitness Team. Changing rooms have an ongoing smell from the showers. You can get a workout done here but it's not the most motivating or efficient.

Shockingly Unprofessional Behaviour from PureGym Basildon Manager I’m
I’m honestly shocked by my experience at PureGym Basildon.
The manager confronted me about my footwear (Crocs). I politely explained I would use different shoes next time and turned my back to avoid any escalation. Despite this, he spoke rudely and threatened to cancel my membership for no valid reason.
After finishing my workout, I discovered my access code had already been deactivated — no warning, no explanation. I had to ask staff to let me out. To make matters worse, the manager lied to staff, claiming I had been rude, which is completely false.
This behaviour is unacceptable from someone in a managerial role. I have requested a full refund and will never return. PureGym needs to review this manager’s conduct immediately before more paying members are treated this way.
If you value respect and basic customer service, avoid PureGym Basildon at all costs.

We would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused. We would like to assure you that we are reviewing feedback and will ensure this is addressed in club. Staff do undertake regular maintenance checks and work hard with our equipment providers to ensure that our equipment is fixed as soon as possible, if any should be broken. We are equally as disappointed when this happens and sometimes need to wait on engineers but will have all equipment in full working order as soon as is safely possible. If you have any concerns about equipment, please notify staff on site. It would really help us if you could get in touch directly with the Gym Manager to provide more information (such as date and time etc.) so this can be investigated. Thanks, PureGym.

Over zelus management and evil behaviour
Over zelus management Denika Arnold is extremely unprofessional and has used her management authority over younge gym gower. Intimidating them and bullying behaviour she needs to go on human communication training. These younge men are clearly new to the gym and she has felt its her place to patronise and belittle them and other who she feels she can bully. Evil person

For months now I have seen great improvement as classes have been running, the trainers seem more disciplined and there seems to be a noticeably improved level of professionalism amongst the staff.

This gym is always busy. Quite often you cannot use the equipment that you wish to use.
