I haven't had a problem with the…

I haven't had a problem with the company as of yet. Someone come and fitted my black box and since i have earned a reward card for driving safely. The app is a little slow (reason it has 4 stars) however when the app is working it is great and allows us to track our milage speed and smoothness. It is a very affordable and good company for the first year atleast.

I wish I had seen the reviews first

I am not being smart here but if you do not have £1000 to waste do NOT try these first.The poor service and aggravation from morethan.com / smartwheels has now made me cancel the policy.
When it suits, they hide behind data protection,when they want more money its fine, during one conversation i was told "if you don't like us your quite free to cancel your policy" this is how they make money. Once they have your money you are supposed to get 14 days to fit your black box and send them your paperwork but from day 2 every email and every text that came started with NOTICE OF CANCELLATION, The black box company could not fit the box for 8 days, that was the earliest date available, they were fine and helpful but Smart wheels sent emails and texts every day threatening cancellation for failure to fit the box, smart wheels miss placed my sons paperwork that we emailed to them,on THEIR LINK, this brought more threats of cancellation. if you are 17/18 you will be very intimidated by the aggressive way SMART WHEELS runs its business every communication from them starts with the threat of cancellation once you have handed over your money, I work from home so the texts and emails came to me and even as a 50 something who has been round the world a few times I found there attitude very oppressive, intimidating and aggressive.you don't need 6 texts A DAY telling you that you are going to receive 6 emails all beginning with NOTICE OF CANCELLATION, i assume smart wheels thought they were intimidating a 17 year old who would have been quite quite worried by them, whereas me I just thought what a bunch of ####'s, bullying young kids whose only crime is being young, now if your a parent like me you need to know that they hide behind data protection and do not tell you a thing, if your child dose something wrong the official warning is buried in a pdf within the email content and unless you set it all up to come to you the first thing you will know about it is when they stand there saying what's this mean ? cancellation notice. now i thought black box's were a joint effort to keep our young ones safe as everyone has a vested interest in keeping our children safe, these people only seem to be in it for the money and if your child is killed and they withheld pertinent information leading up to the incident I for one would not be happy. so choose very very wisely.

A nightmare and a waist of time and money !!!!

I paid a deposit of 900£ for what ? When they came to fit the black box on my car they started to accuse me that my car is modified just because they was JUST THINKING that i have black tints on the back ! They said that my insurance will be cancelled without even asking me to prove that my car is not modified ! After i had a chat with them they said they will allow me to prove that my car is not modified . I gave them 3 different types of documents about my back windows who came black from factory , after every document they ask me something different refusing to send me an email with what exactly they need because they can’t do that or maybe the main reason is that they are not allowed to do this accusation ! But i saw i m not the only one who is not happy about them !

This is a very reliable company

This is a very reliable company, been with them for quite a while now and never any problems, there staff are happy and sort any problems at the best of there knowledge would highly recommend.

Affordable

This car insurance company is one of the most affordable company even though it requires black box but I think it’s worth it. This is because the black box allows you to see and track where your car is parked or has been by looking at it on the app. So if your car does get stolen you don’t need to worry as you can see on the app where your car has been stolen to.

Very good service.

Polite staff, got everything sorted quickly for me.
2nd year running ive had a policy with this insurance company and i couldn't fault them at all. When ive rang or emailed ive had a response straight away to my issue or query. Very happy with the service provided to myself. I recommed a friend and she took a policy out with smart wheels and shes also never had a problem. Reason for not giving 5 stars is sometimes i feel that the black box scores are not always accurate.

Honestly....

I haven't had an issue with them as I'm sitting this review... I work at a school and needed insurance, these guys were the cheapest and the easiest... A man came out to fit my black box and he didn't do a bad job... I have been able to modify my car a little within their guidelines and have had a good laugh, I'd reccomend these guys

Truly shocking to deal with

Truly shocking to deal with. My partners son is renewing his policy with them at the moment. He is having a black box fitted as is expected, but is being bombarded by emails on a daily basis regarding the box, no claims proof, all coming at him with such a threatening attitude its truly shocking. Its like they don't want people to deal with them! Not impressed.

I wanted to leave this review as I…Very satisfied with this company

I wanted to leave this review as I think people need to know the positive reviews about this company. My son took out the black box insurance with this company exactly a year ago and we have had NO Problems with this company whatsoever. From the very beginning they were great with him right to the end. He would have stayed with them but unfortunately there renewal price was too high he got a better deal elsewhere. But I just want to say to any young driver out there who’s had a good price from this company and are considering buying there insurance then do it. As long as your completely honest with them you won’t have any problems at all. Don’t listen to the scare mongering of people saying that their insurance was cancelled for no reason ect that’s a lot of rubbish. I read reviews like that and was worried. But I had nothing to be worried about. Great service from beginning to end.

Unfair increase

My son had his first insurance with Smartwheels and it will be his last. Took the policy out when he was a student, when he finished his studies he took a warehouse job to tide him over. Being the right thing to do I informed S/Wheels and they increased his premium by £168 for the remaining 6 months. I wouldn't have minded paying a admin charge but this increase is ridiculous. Their penilising a young man that wants to work for a living. WARNING - THINK TWICE BEFORE USING SMARTWHEELS.

Don't bother with this company quick enough to take your money but don't pay out

-100 if I could give it

My Son paid £1600 up front because he's under 18 and couldn't set up a direct debit , but now because unfortunately he has had an accident refusing to pay up, not only that, but have sent out 3 different letters claiming that he has had 3 separate accidents around the country with details of 3 different registration numbers and names (what's happened about data protection!). We have spoken to smart wheels on several occasions obviously first to report the incident, but only now to be harassed by them about the box he had installed, have explained that car is in garage being repaired, only to have email today saying unless they hear from us the insurance is going to be cancelled, ( give me strength),
have emailed them back so await their reply, hard work, leave it to u to decide whether to insure your car etc.. I now what we'll be doing in future

Smartwheels ! Jokers

Premium quoted on line £1300 so called them went up to £1700 get a phone call stating I had said my son had a years ncb !.Impossible due to him only passing 3 days before we insured with this God aweful company.So now they wanted £2200 so cancelled policy cost me £100 but its worth it to be rid of them.Tesco seems to be the fairest company for young drivers.Also Smartwheels didn't mention my son could not use his car to go too work and back all though we specifically asked if could the small print said different another phone call another hike in price.Glad we hadn't got the box fitted.So to sum up please don't use this company without you want ripping off.I have to wait 7 /10 days for refund.JOKERS.

Absolutely awful

Absolutely awful. -10 for speed when I haven’t been speeding. Awful smoothness score for god knows why and they are just getting worse and worse so they will probably try cancelling my policy soon too. Called up 3 times over my scores and nobody calls back they just say no notes have been left to say call back and that isn’t a my fault because I’m speeding and can’t prove I’m not. Lure you in with the cheapest quote then add lots of extras on such as hundreds of pounds of tax that they should tell you about straight away and the rewards are poor. I get a maximum of £43 per 4 months and my insurance was thousands. Appalling.
