Unexpected long shipping time and plants right now look like sticks. Hopefully they will all turn into beautiful bushes.

I ordered two dormant persimmon trees from TN Nursery. Because they were dormant, there was no way to know their condition until spring. When spring arrived, neither tree revived. Both are completely dead. When I contacted customer service, they refused to issue a refund or replacement, citing their strict 24-hour return policy. Expecting a customer to verify if a dormant bare-root tree is alive within 24 hours of delivery is completely unrealistic. Buyer beware—their warranty policy does not support the gardener.
It took almost a month for the plants to arrive and most have not grown.
So very slow to deliver. Both times in the past I got smal rooted plants and they all died within 5 days. Rude on the phone.
Earlier this year I made 2 separate orders with TN NURSERY.
1 order was placed on May 27th.
The 2nd order was placed on June 2nd.
TN NURSERY advertised that the customer should be able to have their ordered items in roughly 10 to 14 days.
My orders were confirmed by TN NURSERY each day that I submitted one.
Curious question is this.
WHY DID I RECEIVE BOTH ORDERS ON JUNE 13TH.
The May order was delivered outside their DELIVERY SERVICE WINDOW.
The June order was delivered in 12 days within the window.
Thinking that the delivered items were all from one order I called and asked for the status of my 2nd order.
I was told that the LABEL FOR THE 2ND ORDER WAS BEING MADE AS WE SPOKE.
This call was made after the 2 boxes were received.
When I found out that. BOTH ORDERS HAD BEEN SHIPPED AND RECEIVED, I checked with a local garden center for some insight about what I have.
I received between the 2 orders a total of 5 bags of plants.
NONE OF THESE BAGS HAD CLEAR MARKINGS ON THEM ABOUT THE CONTENTS.
3 OF THE PLASTIC BAGS WE NOT VIABLE OR WORTH PLANTING.
When I attempted to contact TN about the issue I encountered THEIR AI SYSTEM "ROSIE ".
ROSIE IS SPEAKING GENERALLY A VERY STUPID CONGLOMERATION OF CIRCUITS AND WIRES.
After making several attempts I finally somehow found that I was talking to a live person.
This person understood my issue.
Rosie did not offer an OPTION to speak to a live person.
I called several times....ROSIE was determined to not let me speak to someone.
After going back and forth about this for several days I have been able to arrive at the conclusion that DOING BUSINESS WITH A COMPANY THAT DOESN'T HONOR AND RESPECT THEIR OWN CUSTOMERS IS NOT WORTH DOING ANY FURTHER BUSINESS WITH.
TN NURSERY DIDN'T HESITATE TO TAKE MY $90.00.
BUT WHEN THE PRODUCT THAT WAS SOLD TO ME WASN'T FOUND TO BE VIABLE.
TN NURSERY FOUND EVERY WAY POSSIBLE TO KEEP FROM MAKING MY ORDER STRAIGHT.
TN NURSERY FAILED TO TREAT ME.....LIKE THEY WOULD WANT TO BE TREATED.
GOING FORWARD!
ROSIE NEEDS SOME SERIOUS WORK TO BECOME AN ASSET TO TN NURSERY LLC CUSTOMER SERVICE DEPARTMENT.
THE 1 LIVE PERSON I WAS ABLE TO SPEAK WITH WAS VERY GRACIOUS AND UNDERSTANDING ABOUT MY SITUATION.
THANK YOU TO THAT ONE INDIVIDUAL.
TN NURSERY LLC SHOULD BE QUESTIONED ABOUT HOW THEY WOULD LIKE TO BE TREATED AS A CUSTOMER.
IF ROSIE IS GOING TO BE THEIR ANSWER.
TN NURSERY IS IN FOR SOME SERIOUS RESULTS FROM AN UNFORGIVING GROUP OF CUSTOMERS.
$ 90.00 .....IS $90.00!
LIVE PLANTS ARE CONSIDERABLY BETTER THAN A BUNCH OF UN PLANTABLE MUSH!
JUST TO LET EVERYONE KNOW THAT WHATEVER MONEY I SPEND IS JUST AS IMPORTANT AS IT WOULD BE TO ANYONE ELSE.
TN NURSERY TOOK MY MONEY WITHOUT ANY SORT RESOLUTION FOR MY LOSS.
$90.00 TO TN NURSERY LLC IS PROBABLY A SMALL DROP IN THE BUCKET FOR THEM.
ABSOLUTELY NO RESOLUTION BY THEM.....DOESN'T MAKE ME WANT TO SPEND ANY MORE OF MY MONEY WITH THEM.
⭐ 1-Star Review
Still my review same, it's up to other customer
I had a very disappointing experience with Tennessee Wholesale Nursery. I ordered six plants online in November 2025, and they were delivered on December 18. Since it was winter, I could not plant them right away and waited until the weather improved in the spring. After planting them, all six plants died.
When I contacted the company, they told me their return and replacement policy had already expired and would not help in any way. I ended up losing over $112.97 with no resolution.
I understand that plants can sometimes fail, but I expected better customer service and a reasonable solution, especially considering the timing of the delivery. My experience was very frustrating, and I would encourage potential customers to carefully review the company's policies before ordering. I would not purchase from Tennessee Wholesale Nursery again.

I ordered trees from TN nursery. They were ordered in spring. They were supposed to come in the fall. They did not arrive until December. They told me to keep them in the basement. I did that, planted them, they are dead. They will not replace them. So they sent them late and they are dead. When you call them you get AI and cannot speak to a person.

I ordered four separate species from TN Nursery. I'm a repeat cutomer who has never complained before. I was trying to fill in a sunny wet spot and a shade garden. I got an email on May 10 stating that my order was being prepared for shipping. The notice of actual shipping was EIGHTEEN days later. On the face of it, it would appear my plants sat in packaging for eighteen days. No-one contacted me to advise of a shipping delay. Minus one star for shipping delay; minus another star for lack of communication.
When my plants arrived, the Solomon's Seal was utter mush. But worse, I had ordered Lobelia, yet TN Nursery unilaterally decided that it was okay to substitute Red Day Lily. They did not contact me to ask if the substitution would be acceptable. I also complained that the Red Trillium I ordered had broken tubers or rhizomes. Of four species, only Indian Pink seemed to be healthy and what I ordered. Minus two stars for shipping what ever they wanted to get rid of instead of what I ordered.
I promptly complained within a few hours. Customer service was horrible. RepX focused solely on one thing--pictures. I asked repeatedly exactly what this means when the issue is the fact they did not send an ordered plant. I can't exactly take a picture of something I don't have and a picture of the empty box seems like I'm trying to be a smart aleck. I've tried to explain this repeatedly, but "RepX" is stuck on stupid and can only repeat her broken-record mantra loophole--"Send Pictures" and utterly refuses to discuss the actual issue. Minus two stars for horrible customer service.
I discovered later that the Red Trillium's broken rhizome is a non-issue, it's a standard practice. It will probably grow, since it didn't rot. But RepX didn't bother to tell me that and save me some of the stress. Minus one star for bad communication.
So, I didn't take pictures of the rotted Solomon's Seal, and I concede I should have if I had been familiar with their customer service policy, but I wasn't, and I followed their instructions on what to do immediately upon arrival, which didn't say anything about pictures. (It would be good to include that in the immediate instructions.) So, I could accept no pictures as a reason not to do anything about the Solomon's Seal--except they can prove with their own shipping records that they left my order to rot in packaging for 18 days. (Edit: TN replies that, essentially, their email of May 10 doesn't really mean what it seems to say. I'll attempt further negotiation since someone is actually making informed and relevant responses, but I will not accept the notion that the May 10 email doesn't mean what it says. It's not looking good. If their emails aren't easy to understand and mean what they seem to say, that's bad communication.)
And that leaves "send pictures" as an utter loophole excuse to refuse to address the Red Cardinal Lobelia they didn't send, and utterly refuse to explain what it is they want a picture of in the circumstance that I'm complaining of where they did not send the ordered plant. Minus three stars for standing on an irrelevant loophole and failing to explain what it is I'm supposed to take a picture of.
I get it; publicly stated return policies are good business. But forgetting that your own company's policies are waivable, and that sometimes waiving the return policy is necessary for good business is inexcusable. Or, if your computer system won't process without some kind of picture, kindly tell me that a picture of the empty box is okay. I'm not sending a picture of an empty box on my own in case they try to argue to my bank when it's time for a chargeback that I didn't take things seriously and responded frivilously to their 'legitimate' requirement of taking pictures.
I'm fed up with "RepX." The $34 is not worth the infuriation and stress. My therapist advises me that I'm completely justified in asking my bank for a chargeback. I haven't done that yet. Maybe someone who is not an idiot or trying to cheat me will respond to this public complaint and make things right.
I can only say that they'll have to go "far above and beyond" to keep me as a customer. There are simply way too many bare root and live plant nurseries out there to choose from, and a great many of them have much better all around performance than TN Nursery and won't put you through this kind of aggravation.
Again, I ask What am I supposed to take a picture of? And even if there is an appropriate response HERE, it still doesn't solve the problem of why couldn't we resolve this logically in private? If they want repeat business, they have to do something to compensate all the undue stress and aggravation for being very difficult to work with.
Unfortunately I am forced to give them one star when I'd prefer no stars.
Edited to remove Repx's name at TN request.

I purchased 3 plants on the buy one get one free promotion. Some (not all) of the PawPaw and Kousa trees came out of dormancy. The fig trees were likely DOA as they haven't come out of dormancy in a month and a half. They actually shipped extra of all except the fig trees, so for the Kousa and PawPaw, I actually got what I paid for as the extra were dead anyway. I thought it was nice of them at the time, but now I'm sure they do that because they know some will be dead. Unfortunately, they didn't ship extra of the fig, and both were dead. The entire order shipped late due to weather apparently, as stated by TN. Because the order was shipped late and arrive during a time I was out of town, I was not able to follow their "contact within 24 hours" rule if there's anything wrong, so I planted and hoped for the best. TN does expect you to purchase an extra warranty if you want any coverage as all, as I expect that they know they ship dead plants. Unfortunately, their customer service is rather useless as well. When I finally received the order and opened it, I thought "what a great company, sending extra trees at no cost" - but knowing why now, and understanding they prefer to lose a customer rather than replace a $35 order, I'll be sure to check other nurseries instead for future purchases for my small orchard, as I generally expand yearly.

Received bare roots as specified. The fire pinks are already sprouting! Would buy from again.

Received nice large bare roots, much larger than a previous order from another company.

Received the plants in good condition, put them in the ground, watered and I will see how they do.

1 out of 7 plants survived. Zero trees survived. I have lots of thriving plant life in my yard. After a hassle they replaced one, back when there was a year guarantee. Now you have to pay $20 and shipping. It’s a plant business, not microprocessors. They are running a racket. More profit than business. Yay from Lowe’s.

You keep me notified of my order status and sent me extra plants! Thank you for the great service.

Order was placed 5/5. No word on my order and then I tried to cancel it on 5/28. Then suddenly I get a vague email 5/28 "you will receive tracking information today" that tracking information never came. I then again emailed asking to cancel the order on 6/1 . They then emailed tracking #. The plants finally arrived and looked dead and so tiny. The water lilies were not like any water lily I had ever seen, and I've been water gardening over 25 years with lots of experience with lilies. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY AND TIME!

One plant is doing good, but one died. I want to order some more but if you don’t stand behind your products I will have to look somewhere else.

3 bags were perfect, but 2 arrived completely rotten
On the positive side, three of the bags arrived with no damage at all. The paper inside them was perfectly moist, not soaking wet. However, the other two bags were a disaster. One bag had roots rotten and covered in white mold, and in another bag, two out of three plants had melted into a soggy, stinky paste.
Tip for the seller: Please make sure to squeeze out excess water from the paper before shipping. There shouldn't be standing water in the bags. Even with quick 3-day shipping, too much water will completely ruin the plants!
