My dentist recommended Sensodyne repair…
My dentist recommended Sensodyne repair and protect years ago but the new formula doesn't work...teeth giving me gyp. Going to buy some Oral B tomorrow.
Sensodyne Gentle Whitening - Avoid!!
I came here to say the same as everyone else - since Sensodyne changed the formula of their “gentle whitening” toothpaste, which I have used for many years without any problems, within a month I had to stop using it. My teeth became extremely sensitive and I had quite a lot of pain too. Also my mouth didn’t feel clean, by the end of the day I was wondering if I had forgotten to clean my teeth as they all felt very furry!!
I tried a couple of Colgate toothpastes that were recommended on here but they weren’t much better and tasted awful. In desperation I tried the Sensodyne “Original Mint” version and although it’s still the blue gel type my teeth felt much better immediately. Posting this in case it helps someone with sensitive teeth trying to find a new toothpaste!
Complete change of product without warning
I don’t understand how any company can think changing a product completely without informing the customer is a good thing to do!
The blue gel is not only a horrible taste and feel, it doesn’t work. Don’t buy it.
New blue formula for rapid relief is…
New blue formula for raopid relief is not working for me either. Looking for other products.
Sensodyne Repair and Protect has gone bad.
Like everyone else taking the time to come on here I am totally baffled as to why Halleon/Sensodyne have done this. It is a totally different product calling itself the same name. Repair and Protect was great for my teeth, I do not want this blue gloopy madness. Is this a PR person deciding blue is more exciting? I too feel conned.Luckily I managed to find a supply of the old version in one supermarket and bought several. I have also emailed Halleon who tell me that the ingredient change was due to 'changing consumer demand'. No it's not.
Bring the old white formula back.
I have been using sensodyne for many years and now it it is time to search for another brand. I used to use sensodyne rapid relief white version. Since they changed formula to this blue gel, the feeling of clean teeth/ mouth does not feel the same. Now sore mouth and gum. Feel a layer on teeth after 3 hours. Do not relieve pain on gum as the old one. Something has changed. Hope they would bring old formula back.
I agree with the many reviews that…
I agree with the many reviews that state the new blue gel is not as good as the white paste. It drips out of the tube and onto the brush. As soon as you add water it slides off the brush. The white paste is much better to use and delivers better results for sensitivity. Nothing on the packaging suggested it was a new formula. Will not repurchase.
INSENSITIVE SENSODYNE
The newly introduced formula,Sensodyne Repair and Protect, is terrible. My dentist recommended that I switch to Repair and Protect about 15 years ago as it was the best product on the market for sensitivity. Previously I had been using other Sensodyne products since about 1995. I cannot believe a single dentist will recommend the new product which leaves a horrible taste and doesn’t feel as effective as the white paste. It is deeply misleading that Haeleon has marketed the Repair and Protect blue gel in the same packaging as the white paste product with a minute note about the new formulation which no one will see. I will be throwing away the four boxes I have just bought and will be switching to a Colgate product.
Why change the colour toothpaste from…
Why change the colour toothpaste from white to blue gel, I much prefer the white formula as it was thicker and coated my teeth much than the blue gel, which I think does work as well as the white toothpaste and helped my teeth much better with sensitivity. Very disappointed. Please can we have the white toothpaste back ASAP. Thank you
I have used the Sensodyne Repair &…
I have used the Sensodyne Repair & Protect tooth paste for many years, excellent toothpaste and good for sensitivity relief. Following my latest purchase, I find that the formula has now been changed to a blue gel and after trying it for a week find that it is completely horrible and appears not to work as well with the sensitivity relief.
This dislike has been 100% backed up by my family and unfortunately we will not be using Sensodyne tooth paste anymore.
The old saying of "if it's not broke, don't fix it" springs to mind.
Awful Gel!
The change to the new blue on Sensodyne toothpaste has left me with ulcers on the gums and increased sensitivity. I will be changing to Colgate with immediate effect!
Poor decisions by sensodyne causing us…
Poor decisions by sensodyne causing us to change brands. Awful blue gel.
Changed their formula of sensodyne…
Changed their formula of sensodyne toothpaste and the outcome is terrible. Teeth and mouth now painful and very sensitive. The change is in small print and not visible without close inspection. Bought 2 as used it without issue for years. When I contacted their customer service they were dismissive and unhelpful.
This new blue formula is useless and…
This new blue formula is useless and whilst I can still find the old formula I’ll continue to buy, as soon as that runs out I’ll definitely be changing brand. Whoever thought this new formula was a good idea needs sacking, they’re going to cost the loss of the majority of the Sensodyne customer base…but I guess that’ll make Colgate and others very happy!
Severe reaction to new 'blue' formulation
I have used sensodyne Repair & Protect for 15 years. The new 'blue' formulation caused severe pain & irritation and development of red raw sores on my tongue.
I have filed a "MHRA Yellow Card" report and written to Sensodyne. Suggest other customers do the same.
The reason for the change is that titanium dioxide (used in the original formulation) has been banned as there is evidence it causes DNA mutations and potentially cancer. So the change is for a good reason but clearly one of the new ingredients is not working for many people.
Bring back the original
Bring back the original, what the hell were they thinking messing with the original. I will no longer buy sensodyne
Bad experience from the New formulation of Sensodyne paste
I have used Sensodyne Repair and Protect for around ten years with excellent results. However, the most recent version I purchased was a blue, mint-flavoured gel, and after just four days of use my tooth sensitivity returned. This formulation is clearly different from the original and ineffective for me. As a result, I will be switching to an alternative brand.
RING THEM UP FOR CHANGE GUYS!
The only way to get change is ring them! Same as what everyone else is saying ive used and love the product for years i really rate it
Im sat here now 3 days late in pain as ive ran out so i rang them. It was a lovely lady who i spoke to and she could say sorry enough but sorry didn't help or give me a solution on what to do going forward.
I really hope they do go back because other toothpastes are no way near the same
Used to be a good product.
Unfortunately, I'm having to give a 1 star review for a product that used to be 5 stars. The product has been changed (quietly) to a new 'blue gel-like' formula, rather than the white paste formula that worked very well previously. I tried it anyway and the quality is subpar, my gums have a slight burning sensation when using and my teeth don't feel as fresh after. The aftertaste isn't great either, the formula doesn't foam up as effectively as the previous product.
I contacted Haleon (who own the Sensodyne brand), they asked for details - then sent me a form so I could give them the details I'd already given them. After telling them about the other reviews on here and that I'm clearly not the only one who has issues with the product, they then sent me the same form so 'the other people I know' can fill in their details.. At that point I gave up.
They've confirmed that the formula has changed and that is due to 'consumer feedback' and possible 'regulation change' but there's 'no impact on the quality' (I think otherwise). Who's giving feedback that the old formula wasn't working?!
Apparently Sensodyne Clinical White Stain Protector and Sensodyne Clinical White Enamel Strengthening are the products that are designed to 'appear white', however there's no indication that this is the old formula.
In my opinion, the old formula is unlikely to be brought back as I imagine they have invested a good amount of money on this change. However, I simply won't be buying another tube until the old formula is brought back.
LISTEN TO YOUR CUSTOMERS
Wow you have made a huge mistake changing the formula of my toothpaste I have been using since I was 19yrs old ivam 74yrs old now. I only use the Sensodyne Rapid, and I can honestly say it is no where near as effective, doesn't leave my mouth feeling fresh and is absolutely disgusting. I am seriously thinking you may be loosing a valid customer of over 50 yrs and I have spent alot of money on your products. Please, please, revert back to the ORIGINAL FORMULA. HILARY HUGHES.
