Avoid at all cost. The price you see is not the price you pay. The price you agree at booking will increase on the day that the work is booked. Having had the booking, including vehicle registration, for over 1 week they contacted me 1 hour into my time slot demanding more money to do the work.
SHOCKING & WILL NEVER USE AGAIN - Initial service received was great - so I thought (change brake pads and front discs. Then I had fault signs - AA attended stated it was an ABS cable failure to front passenger side and wanted payment for what I thought was probably an error when installing the discs.
Agreed a payment for a new cable - then the booking appointment was not met after waiting around all day.
Rearranged at some inconvenience, and then they confirmed after inspection that damage to cable was more than likely when installing the new brake discs and then after an hour confirmed they couldn't fix the issue as they had the wrong cable (after knowing the make of car and model). To return and rectify I was asked to pay a further £40+ on top of a fee I had already reluctantly accepted and would have still honoured as they did not accept the error in the first place
After complaining AA - no apology, no acceptance and to sort the issue still want another £40+ - I am going so where else and will not use this service again - a Premium company or so I thought until this happened - Poor, Very Poor in my eyes and experience
Firstly I will say that the brake discs and pads were fitted as requested on the day booked. Professionally and efficiently.
The mechanic was very helpful and comunicated every step.
There were problems though which reduced the rating in my view.
Firstly I was told that I would be informed of the actual appointment time the day before but this was never communicated to me.
Secondly the parts were not even purchased until the day of repair in stead of being available to your mechanic the day before. This meant that he had to try 3 different motor factors before finding stock.
This meant my booked a.m appointment turned into late afternoon.
The mechanic saved the day though so will probably use the service again if required.

Car picked up nice and early for a full service and MOT and dropped off fine, that’s the good bit.
Looking at the check list on what was covered in the service, coolant level was marked as checked and ok. I knew when the car was picked up it was empty and when the car was returned was still empty. Suspension checked and fine, so the knocking on the rear shock absorber wasn’t picked up were the bushes had perished. Sent an email to Smartcare explaining the issue but no reply… makes you wonder what else has been checked off but not inspected
Easy to use service. I was able to book an appointment for an MOT and find a garage near me with minimal fuss. The garage were professional and did the work in no time without fuss.
Absolutely brilliant service, guy turned up on time and was very pleasant, he did the work required very professionally.

We booked only for a BRAKE examination/check. We said this specifically on the order we sent in you the AA. We received a confirmation telling us that the AA contracted garage in Portsmouth would take a whole day. We contacted the garage and they sais No , not so . It would be finished in minutes. I’ve been a customer of tga for service and MOT previously but now have to use the dealership for my service however I used tga for my MOT. They were efficient, polite and helpful. I will return to tga next year.
More expensive than going direct with garage, maybe good support if being mugged off by mechanic but personally won’t be using again.

Late collecting and returning car, failed MOT, repairs done, retested. This was booked for a major service &mot, surely the service would/should pick up on mot failure points before testing. Now shows a fail on mot history! Would not happen at Ford main dealers.

The AA app is easy to use and the approved garage was very good.
They called me on the day to confirm if I was either leaving the car or waiting. I needed to get to another appointment, so they rushed my car in for the mot quickly.
Great service and will use again.
